MESTIZO is ALL about community!

For over 15 years, Mestizo Institute of Culture and Arts (MICA) has served our community by providing a space dedicated to social change through arts, dialogue, activism, and education.

As the first community arts gallery and socially conscious event host on Salt Lake City’s west side, MICA has…

  • Hosted close to a thousand new exhibits in the MICA gallery as part of the popular City Gallery Stroll, bringing both local and national talent to Utah audiences
  • Presented countless public discussions on important social issues that affect our community—including immigration, race, education and politics
  • Supported important cultural and educational events for children—including the annual Cesar Chavez Arts Awards (with the Salt Lake School District) and weekly arts programming at the Hartland Youth Center in Glendale.

Today, MICA is based out of Sugar Space Arts Warehouse on 800 W, SLC, and is involved in activities across the Valley.

Now is your chance to show how important Art, Culture, and Activism are to our community. Please consider making a donation of $25 or more today. Your generous donation helps us continue to present the work of emerging, underrepresented, and established artists in our community, as well as meaningful public and educational programming.

The MESTIZO Board of Directors would like to thank you for your consideration, your support and wish you a wonderful holiday season filled with love, family, community, and of course, art!

Very special thanks to Zoo, Arts & Parks (ZAP), Salt Lake Arts Council, Utah Humanities, the Salt Lake City Mayors Office, and Sugar Space Foundation for their generous support throughout the years!
