Metropolitan School of the Arts is a uniquely innovative arts education establishment teaching dance, music and theater to nearly 1,200 students.

As part of our commitment to our community, our next step is to complete our own Black Box Theater.  Here are the top 5 reasons why we need your help with this NEXT STAGE CAMPAIGN.

1) Theater space is limited in our area -- our scheduling depends on theater availability, not the best timing for our students.

2) MSA currently spends between $50,000 and $70,000 annually on renting theater space.  To continue paying this fee, MSA will continue to have to charge admission for all performances, including student showcases to cover the cost. With our own theater, MSA could provide student performance opportunities for families and friends at no cost, and more frequently.

3) MSA would like to share the performing arts with at-risk students in the Kingstowne/Springfield/Alexandria area.  Having a theater would give us the opportunity to produce FREE performances for our underserved community. 

4) MSA can keep tuition costs down if we don't have to pay for theater rentals.

5) Having an in-house theater contributes to our organizational professionalism and builds our foundation for the next strategic step.
