Over the years, Michele Almore Ministries, known as The Prayer Hub, has reached people through intercession and worship. We have undertaken initiatives to provide backpacks and school supplies to youth in our local community. These initiatives started in 2021 with 50 kids from local parishes in the Greater New Orleans, Jefferson Parishes St Tammany, and St; Bernard parishes. The age ranges from 3 to 17 years of age and across ethnicity. We wanted to ignite their passion for learning. Therefore, we held a Back to School program with a motivational speaker and gave out the Backpacks with all their supplies from their school supply list. Items range from earphones, Clorox wipes, band-aids, dry-erase markers, graph paper dividers, etc. Last year we reached 84 kids From St. Tammany, New Orleans, Jefferson, and St. James Parishes and were able to add two uniforms per student and give away computers. We want to impact more families this year and extend to first-year, first-generation college students. The facial expression of one high school student said I'm not just going to school; I'm going to learn. A parent cried as he opened the backpack and saw the uniform voucher. Said, "God Is good." We are not just providing school supplies but empowering individuals and families

I applaud your loving effort in supporting the community through your back-to-school supply giveaway. The great detail you put into it made it amazing. Your pre-work allowed each child's need to be addressed according to their school's list. That meant purchasing a myriad of specialty items.
New connections were made as volunteers stepped up to assist in stuffing the backpacks. Your volunteers lit new fires to do even more in this effort. The wonderful supplies given (overstuffed backpacks included, but were not limited to, paper packs, notebooks folders, three rings, binders, pencils, pens, markers, crayons, batteries, Kleenex, kids mats, oversized towels/blankets, calculators, erasers, rulers, pencil sharpeners, and so many other items) were a true blessing. They saved the parents lots of money at the beginning of the school year. It was a vast undertaking to show up strong in the community and be an unforgettable blessing.
Keep up the great work, and prayerfully others will seed money into this blooming and blossoming effort. I was glad to be a small part of such a worthy cause.
