Mid Sound Fisheries Enhancement Group engages people in active stewardship of local streams, rivers, and shorelines throughout the central Puget Sound region.

When you give to Mid Sound, you power on-the-ground, earth-moving projects that restore healthy salmon habitat in partnership with local communities. Your donation right now during the Kitsap Great Give will support:

• Restoration of important estuary habitat in Kitsap County. Estuaries -- where freshwater from rivers and streams mixes with salt water from the ocean -- are vital places for young salmon to rest and feed on their journey to the ocean. They are also great for migratory birds and protecting inland areas from flooding!

• Creation of more salmon friendly beaches. We work with landowners to remove unnecessary bulkheads (hard shoreline armoring). When we reconnect nearshore land and water, we can restore natural ecosystem processes like leaves, insects, and big wood falling into the water to provide food and shelter for migrating salmon. Bulkhead removal also creates easier access to beaches for people, enhances the natural beauty of shoreline properties, and creates resilience to climate change impacts.

Thank you to everyone who makes a donation - no matter the size! Community support gives salmon a chance to thrive in our streams now and in the future, and we could not do this work without you.
