102,800 Middle Georgians are food insecure, 31,460 of them are children

1 in 5 children and 1 in 8 adults struggle to have enough food.

 For 40 years, the Middle Georgia Community Food Bank has worked with our partner food pantries through out the 24-county middle Georgia area providing food to our neighbors who struggle with food insecurity.  We stretch from Jasper County south to Telfair County and from Taylor County west to Treutlen County, working with 170 partner agencies including 131 local food pantries, soup kitchens and emergency shelters. 

We provide non-perishable food, as well as meat, fresh fruit and vegetables to to our partners on a daily basis.  We also provide Mobile Pantries to supplement food distribution through out the middle Georgia area.  We support "Backpack" programs  to ensure that students who participate in free or reduced priced school breakfasts and lunches at school... go home with food for the weekend.

In 2020 we provided 12 million pounds of food that resulted in 10 million meals for those in Middle Georgia.  In 2021 we have increased our food pantry partners by 30% to improve the odds that people who need help,  can find food close by, when they need it.
