MidPenn Legal Services (Main)

Founded in 1969, MidPenn Legal Services is a nonprofit, public interest law firm with a staff of attorneys, paralegals, support staff and administrators. We work to improve the lives of our clients and the community through the provision of high quality impactful legal services. We are the legal safety net for low-income families and survivors of domestic violence in Lancaster County. 

For many individuals and families in crisis, the solution to their problem requires access to legal representation. We provide a full range of free legal services in areas of law that improve the safety and economic well-being of our clients. In fiscal year 2024-2025 we handled 1,444 cases in Lancaster County in these areas: Consumer, Domestic Violence, Housing, Expungement, Custody, Tax Controversies, Public Benefits and Elder Law. 

In addition to legal advice and representation, our attorneys conduct education and outreach programs on various topics of civil law so that individuals have a better understanding of their legal rights and responsibilities.
