The mission of Milestone is to provide quality, life-enhancing services that promote wellness and the development of human potential to persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities and/or behavioral health challenges.

Milestone is a community-based nonprofit organization that has been improving lives in Western Pennsylvania since 1969.

A proud member of the Partners For Quality family of agencies, Milestone provides a continuum of support, treatment, residential and vocational services to individuals with behavioral health challenges, drug & alcohol dependency and intellectual & developmental disabilities. Programs also include day treatment, children's' counseling, wellness initiatives and a drop-in center for persons supported by behavioral health programs.

Milestone serves more than 3,500 persons annually in Western Pennsylvania. Furthermore, Milestone sets the standard by providing clinical training to professionals from other intellectual disability providers in 18 additional Western Pennsylvania counties. Milestone's Health Care Quality Units are based in Butler and Warren, PA.

Milestone was the first agency to provide residential services to clients who are deaf, the first to engage in electronic clinical records, and the first in Allegheny County to offer a licensed program for seniors who have intellectual/developmental disabilities.

Milestone staff are certified in the Sanctuary® Model - a guide for creating and maintaining a safe, democratic environment where healing occurs. Sanctuary focuses on healing from trauma, such as loss, stress, or adversity.
