Minds Matter of San Francisco (MMSF) is a chapter of the national Minds Matter organization, which expands across eleven cities, including Boston, Chicago, Cleveland, Denver, Los Angeles, New York, Philadelphia, Portland, San Francisco, Seattle, and the Twin Cities.

The MMSF chapter recently started its fourth academic year with 43 low-income, high achieving high school students and over 120 committed volunteers. Starting their sophomore year, students attend our 4-hour Saturday sessions during which they participate in a rich set of programs including, SAT/ACT prep, writing and critical thinking, math instruction, and young professional mentorship. Each student is paired with two young-professional mentors who provide support with applications to academic summer programs and college. MMSF covers all costs associated with our students summer programs, application fees, and test prep. Over the past three years, we've sent students to summer programs at UC Berkeley, UCLA, Harvard, Brown and Northwestern. To date, 100% of our high school graduates have enrolled in four-year colleges.
