Because of the recession many of our veterans have lost their homes and the ability to provide for their loved ones. It is our goal to help as many of these disadvantaged veterans as possible.

THE LAST STAND DOWN WAS A SUCCESS!!! WE  HANDED OUT ITEMS VALUED AT $33.106.25, TO OVER ONE THOUSAND VETERANS.

• 16 Homeless Veterans were Housed Direct from the Stand Down!
• 86 Future Housing appointments were Made!
• 17 veterans got Hired on-the-spot at the Stand Down!

The Veterans Stand Down is an event that is held in cities all over the nation to provide food, clothing, services and referrals to homeless veterans. The name "Stand Down" comes from a term used in times of war. Exhausted combat units requiring time to rest and recover were removed from the battlefields to a place of relative security and safety. Today, Stand Down refers to a grassroots, community-based intervention program designed to help the nation's estimated 67,000 homeless veterans "combat" life on the streets. The hand up, not a handout philosophy of Stand Down is carried out through the work of hundreds of volunteers and organizations throughout the Nation. Example: In the Vegas Valley there are over 50,000 Veterans 15% are disadvantaged, living in poverty or HOMELESS 5,000 minimum
