Missouri Girls Town helps young women, ages 8-21, who have experienced significant trauma. Youth display adverse effects that are not safe for themselves or others and prevent them from remaining in their community. Programming provides relationship-based therapy and focuses on the five principles of trauma: safety, trustworthiness, choice, collaboration and empowerment, while working with youth to attain a resilient future. 

Did you know...Child sexual abuse is likely the most prevalent health problem children face with the most serious array of consequences. Children who experience child abuse and neglect are approximately 9 times more likely to become involved in criminal activity. On average, Missouri Girls Town youth have had 9 failed placements before coming to our residential program. Every day, five children die of child abuse. State funding provides just 51% of the daily cost of providing services for the girls in our care.
