Mary Mcdowell Friends School

Lwamaya Elementary School in Uganda -  Located in rural Uganda, Lwamaya has been the  sister school to MMFS since 2004. Lwamaya is one of the poorest and most under-funded of the U.P.E. schools. It is woefully lacking in basic resources and supplies. Readers, textbooks, pencils, paper are scarce when present at all so any support we can give them goes a long way. As a point of reference, about $100 would allow the school to build 25 desks and chairs, a fraction of the cost required here in the U.S.

 

 

Kisangura Friends Primary School in Tanzania - The New York Quarterly Meeting of the Religious Society of Friends established the African Education Committee in 2000 to raise funds to enable students whose parents have died of AIDS to attend school.
