Mobile Chamber Music Society Inc

We are an all-volunteer, non-profit organization dedicated to bringing the world's best chamber musicians to Mobile. Community outreach is a major part of our mission. 

As programmer for Mobile Chamber Music, I try to find ensembles covering the spectrum of chamber music today. From time to time, we "push the envelope."  Some years ago, we brought the Meridian Arts Ensemble to Mobile to give a world premier of a composition by New York City composer Ellot Sharp. The concert was held at the Alabama School of Mathematics and Science. It was the first time we have ever had a drum set and chains on stage. The performance was outstanding but loud. Afterwards, an elderly woman came up to me, grasped my arm and said:"It isn't my kind of music, but I'm glad you brought them here."  -Dan Silver, Programmer for Mobile Chamber Music
