Counterpane Montessori School

Counterpane Montessori School is one of the few Montessori programs in the United States that extends the Montessori philosophy from the 3-year-old child through the 12th grade. 

We are:

•    “Accredited with Quality” by the Georgia Accrediting Commission,

•    recognized by the Association Montessori Internationale (AMI) as an AMI-Montessori School for our Primary classroom, and

•    strictly college preparatory with 100% of our graduates being accepted by 4-year colleges and universities.

Founded in 1974, Counterpane is a private, not-for-profit 501(c)(3) educational organization and administers a non-discriminatory admissions policy. 

The school is small and individualizing; students and teachers share in this co-worker/co-learner environment. 

Counterpane’s campus is on 14 wooded acres with farm animals, a wilderness program based in our outdoor classroom, and a profusion of wildflowers and wildlife.
