More Mercy

Jesus prayed for all who believe in Him "that they may be perfectly one" (John 17:23). The lived reality is that there are currently divisions among Christians which "openly contradicts the will of Christ, scandalizes the world, and damages the holy cause of preaching the Gospel" (Unitatis Redintegratio, 1). 

Jesus' prayer created an ache within my heart for the restoration of Christian unity. After years of deepening friendships with Christian leaders of various faith traditions, in the Spring of 2023 I sensed the call in prayer to start a new apostolate. Bishop Conley gave his blessing for this apostolate to begin and we later named it "More Mercy" in reference to Divine Mercy which gathers all who have been scattered and divided by sin into the unity of God's family, the Church.

Our mission at More Mercy is to "Restore Christian unity through Truth and Love." We do this by approaching non-Catholic Christian communities on behalf of the Catholic Church and aim to build upon the "real though imperfect communion" that exists. We facilitate the "dialogue of Truth" and "dialogue of Love" taught by the Catholic Church at the local level between Catholic parishes and the non-Catholic Christian communities within their parish boundaries. 

In the short time this apostolate has existed, we have witnessed the Holy Spirit doing amazing things. We are growing rapidly and are confident that both within the visible boundaries of the Catholic Church and among our separated brothers and sisters, God is in the process of bringing restoration in places that have desperately needed healing.
