Located at Villa Mira Monte, the Morgan Hill Historical Society (MHHS) is an all-volunteer 501(c)(3) non-profit organization established in 1971. We own, maintain and operate this 2.5-acres site in Morgan Hill for community educational and recreational purposes. On the site sits the 1884 home built by Morgan and Diana Murphy Hill, also the 1911 Acton House, now the Morgan Hill Museum. A Centennial History Trail with beautiful rose gardens adorns the front of the property.

We have ambitious plans to complete development of the back 1.5 acres on the site.  The first, and most critical, phase is a paved drive and expanded parking area. Future phases call for a multipurpose meeting room, archival storage room, catering kitchen, restrooms and a covered pavilion allowing us to fully utilize of the site for events and fundraising to preserve the site and its structures.

Our work is funded through memberships and donors who value the stories of those who have built our vibrant community and wish to preserve its heritage. Sharing this history through exhibits, community events and local school programs allows us to celebrate our rich history and create a strong sense of place.
