The Morongo Basin Coalition for Adult Literacy, Inc., provides free confidential, one-on-one tutoring to illiterate adults over eighteen who need help with reading, writing, and/or mathematics in order to achieve their potential and to function in their home, workplace, and community.

Morongo Basin Coalition for Adult Literacy relies solely on volunteer assistance. We use an individualized teaching approach that helps students with all areas of learning to read, including phonics, alphabetics, mathematics, and comprehension

The Morongo Basin Coalition for Adult Literacy, Inc. was founded 1984 and incorporated as a Not-For-Profit Corporation in 1987.  MBCAL began with two volunteers and one San Bernardino County Library employee to address this need in and around the surrounding communities of Yucca Valley, Joshua Tree and 29 Palms. We are a not-for-profit 501(c)3 California Corporation.
