OUR STORY

The students of Morris Jeff Community School need your help. They moved into a beautiful new school on January 6th but they don't have a playground.

FEMA funds paid to rebuild the wonderful new school, but the funding did not include money to build a playground. 

Our fundraising goal for Phase 1 of the playground, which will include installation of a durable reinforced natural sod and playground equipment, is $70,000. We are thrilled to report that we have already raised $35,000 toward this goal through the generosity of our spring fair sponsors and the hard work of parents and volunteers who have supported fundraisers like the popcorn and merchandise sales, raffles, bake sales, and coupon book sale.

To raise the remaining $35,000 for Phase 1 our children truly need your help.

On and off the playground, play is a great way to build strong bonds between adults and kids; bonds that help children learn and grow. Through play, adults can unleash students’ creativity and encourage them to take on age-appropriate challenges. 

Studies also prove that children are better able to focus on learning after having played outside. Achieving academic success is central to our school's mission.
