Give Them a Place Worth Waiting In.

Help Mostly Mutts update the shelter to make it safer, cleaner, and more comfortable for our Mutts, so they can feel good while they wait for their forever home.

Every dog who comes through our doors is waiting for the same thing: a family of their own. Until that day comes, we want their time with us to be safe, comfortable, and full of care.

Why It Matters
Small upgrades make a big difference. A comfortable kennel, a clean dog, and a dry place to play all help dogs stay healthy, calm, and ready for adoption. They also mean our team can spend less time fighting the facility and more time loving the dogs.

New kennels, a new Paw Spa bath, dry pens, fresh paint, new doors and floors: every update gives them a place worth waiting in.

Every dog who walks into Mostly Mutts is one step closer to home. With your help, we can make every step a little more comfortable. Thank you for giving them a place worth waiting in.

Let Us Introduce Ourselves
Since 2004, Mostly Mutts has rescued and found homes for thousands of homeless dogs and cats. Our goal is continued growth through the variety of programs that sets us apart. We spay/neuter all rescues, microchip them, and provide the physical, medical, and emotional care they need before placing them in loving, permanent homes. To prevent rehoming, we also offer affordable dog training to the public and free training for adopters for the pet's life.

Taking Rescue to a Higher Level
We are committed to rescuing not only young, healthy animals or those resembling purebreds. We also go the extra mile to save dogs and cats who are injured, old, or have medical issues that lead to abandonment. We know pets like these deserve a second chance, and we strive to give them one. We see beyond grey muzzles, broken limbs, or whatever other tragedy brought them into our care. We will restore them and promise love and care for the rest of their lives.

Commitment to Educate Dogs and People
We provide resources, education, and awareness programs to our community about responsible pet guardianship, promoting pets as valued family members, worthy of lifelong protection and love. Our programs aim to reduce the risk of pet owners becoming overwhelmed by pet care and training, which can lead to rehoming or abandonment. Highlights of our programs include:

Mostly Mutts University – This program is the cornerstone of our training initiatives. Our volunteer-based training team has transformed our rescues' behavior through patience, consistency, and positive reinforcement. Our adoptable dogs learn good manners, build confidence, become better socialized, and form the important human/dog bond that increases adoption potential.

Post-Adoption Classes – We offer a complimentary post-adoption training class to teach owners how to continue training their new dog, reinforce what they've learned, and address potential issues such as acclimation to a new home, potty training, and introductions to other family pets.

Metro Reentry Program - We are proud participants in the Georgia Department of Corrections' Metro Reentry Facility, where we have rolled out a successful dog-handling and training program. This has given the men in this facility an opportunity to learn career skills they can use in the future, and they have done an amazing job providing additional training for our adoptable dogs.

We Give Back to The Community
Our Pet Therapy Program has brought joy and connection to the residents of a nearby assisted living facility. Our volunteer team has shown a strong commitment to enriching our senior citizens' lives by bringing our adoptable dogs and kittens to visit with them.
