Mission

Motley Zoo Animal Rescue is dedicated to improving the lives of animals locally, nationally and internationally; alleviating their suffering and elevating their status in society through the rescue and rehabilitation of animals in need and through the education of their community on responsible pet ownership and animal welfare, advocating the value of all animal life, in hopes to end the neglect and abuse of all animals through spay and neuter advocacy.

Description

Motley Zoo Animal Rescue (MZar) has revolutionized animal rescue in the state of Washington!

We give animals that would have been euthanized, a second chance by providing one on one attention, extensive veterinary care , socialization, training so they become more adoptable and through careful compatibility matching, find new, loving homes with those that would never again abandon them- to the tune of more than 4,100 since 2009!

These neglected, abused and unwanted animals from overflowing shelters, or owners who can no longer keep their pets, are placed in a private, volunteer foster homes where we can learn more about their needs, providing everything they require from the most basic to extremely complex.

We work with many animals requiring extensive and expensive veterinary care to become more adoptable because we believe every animal is worth more the the number at the bottom of a vet bill! Through the relationship we build with these animals, we are able to assess what they need going forward too- allowing us to make the best matches with their forever families.

Sometimes rather than rehoming, our role is providing support to owners struggling to manage, to help them keep their pets, forgoing the animal welfare system entirely- which is what we are doing during this era of COVID19! We have been focused on animals with urgent and life-threatening needs, who would die without our care- or those who might succumb to placement in the animal welfare system, simply because their families are struggling to keep up with their needs. No matter what they face, our objective is to ensure the animals get what they need for long term success.

Motley Zoo goes above and beyond to support both pets and people in their time of greatest need- and we would appreciate your support in making that happen!

To further celebrate the union of pets and community, we are offering "Bad Pet Drawings" for every donation over $50! You simply donate, then send us a picture of your pet (info@motleyzoo.org), and we enlist one of our questionably talented volunteers to create the best "worst" drawing of him or her!

This will also get you entered into our contest for great prizes!

Now, besides all the warm and fuzzy feels you get from giving to our mission, you can be reminded of your kindness and generosity with a wonky drawing of your pet to hang on the fridge too! ;)
