Mountain Arts Network

Mountain Arts Network (MAN) is a nonprofit benefit organization and is not an organization for the private gain of any person.  It is organized under the California Nonprofit Public Health Corporate Law for charitable and public purposes as a 501(C) (3).

Man has been in existance since 2007 along with their Gallery of which resides in the Village of Lake Arrowhead in the San Bernardino Mountains. The Gallery displays the art work of 50 artists from the mountain communities. The Gallery is a co-op where the artists themselves host the Gallery every day from 10 am to 5 pm. The art work consists of oil, water color paintings, jewerly, photography, gourdes and much, much more.

This past year, MAN began formal classromm instruction in their Community Arts Center, also located in the VIllage in Lake Arrowhead.  The first series of art classes included an award from the Irvine Foundation through The Community Foundation.  These classes were targeted at intergenerational families.  The classes had a mixture of grandparents painting with their grandchildren, moms and dads with their children and some were even aunts or uncles, where all were just wanting to improve their communication with the children and address any issues found between different generations.  These classes were very well received by the community and all who participated had a great time and plan to come back.  Summer classes are now scheduled.

MAN, also, has for the last several years donated to granduating seniors who have chosen to be artists and have chosen a course of studying art in college. 

The needs are many and visual art has been found to be a mechanism in which many different issues or problems can be solved or at least greatly helped.  Art is medicinal, Art is therapeutic.  Art is relaxing. Art is a vehicle of communication. Art is fun!
