Mountainfilm on Tour Savannah

Mountainfilm on Tour Savannah uses the power of film to educate and inspire audiences to create a better world. In addition to providing the local community with singular access to films on critical contemporary issues, Mountainfilm reaches out to school-aged audiences with our educational program, Movies that Matter. 

Movies that Matter selects award-winning documentary films for the purpose of inspiring and educating school aged children. Middle and high school students enrolled in the Savannah-Chatham County Public School System (SCCPSS) are our target audience.  Movies that Matter also provides customized educational materials in support of the films that can be used in the online teaching program. The materials include interviews with the filmmakers, talking points and discussion topics. The films selected to be a part of Movies that Matter go beyond simple entertainment. They are short in length, but deep in content and effective in message. These viewings, coupled with question and answer sessions with the personalities from the films, can create life-changing experiences for our students.
