Mountain Ranch Youth Alliance

A nonprofit organization

The Mountain Ranch Youth Alliance/Resource Center (MRYA/RC) needs you!

Founded in 1997 by dedicated Mountain Ranch residents, it has evolved steadily to meet the needs of our community. Unfortunately, shrinking government services and
changing demographics in our area have forced  nonprofit organizations to embrace greater responsibilities. With a new Board of Directors, MYRA/RC is at a critical juncture.  It is
our mission to continue providing services which will support our unique mountain way of life.

We hope that you will take a few minutes to read this letter in order to understand what we do and why your help is critical.

WHAT is our purpose? To support the emotional and physical well-being of children and families through the
establishment of community based programs and activities.

HOW do we impact the community?

1. Every day, Monday-Friday, 2 to 6 pm, a dozen
kids find a safe and friendly place to stay until their     parents can pick them up.

2. Twice a month, over 40 families are served by
the Food Pantry and/or the Commodities Program.

3. Every other month an artist's reception and
ongoing art exhibit showcases local artists.

4. Twice a week, a CalWorks outreach worker
provides access to a wide variety of County and State services.

5. Every other week, a FREE “Lunch With Us”
program serves approximately 35 people with a nutritious meal and companionship.

6. Every afternoon, our  FREE computer lab is
open to the community and Wi-Fi access is available 24/7.

7.  We maintain a FREE lending library of
books and DVDs.

8. With the help of Mark Twain Medical Center, we
are able to offer health screening services.

9.   We manage an on-site electronic waste
and appliance drop-off.

10. Facilities of our Resource Center allow
meetings, workshops, classes, events and private parties to take place right here in our town.

Our Future looks Bright

  •  the addition of a Comunity Garden
  •  Gen Ed and Trade classes being taught in conjuction with our local Comunity College.
  • the addition of a Youth development and Education Director.

What makes these activities happen is the dedication of our staff and volunteers. However, salaries, insurance, utilities, building maintenance and supplies are ongoing expenses that require continual fund-raising. Our aim as a new board is to help raise money to keep these vital services going and the Center open.

Our current program and operating costs are $30 per hour for each of the 20 hours per week that we are open.

Our immediate goal is to obtain enough monthly pledges of $30 (or more) per month to cover expenses for the remainder of the year.  Your tax-deductible annual or monthly contribution is essential for keeping our ONLY one stop resource in Mountain Ranch viable.

We
are asking that you consider what MRYA means to you and the community; without
it we would lose a valuable LOCAL asset. Please choose the financial support
level that is right for you and make a contribution.

Warm
regards,
