Mountain Moments

Your generous donation will support the following programs: 

1) Family wellness getaways for children with chronic long term illnesses such as cancer, traumatic life altering injuries, or congenital diagnosis 2) AmpCamps. We provide a week long day camp for rehabilitation. Along with physical rehabilitation camp activities include: adaptive fitness programs, mindfulness, healthy eating, and community integration with peer to peer support in a small group setting in Park City. 3) Sponsorship for children to receive pediatric therapy services in Summit County for those families who qualify for reasons such as financial hardship or inability to receive optimal frequency due to distance needed to travel.

Mountain Moments was created to improve quality of life, educate, and create community.  We started this non profit initially to serve families and children who have been hospitalized and are recovering from conditions such as cancer, limb loss, or traumatic injuries. 

Kids become used to being patients and often isolated in a hospital. When children have to stay in hospitals families will have to set up a second home in their child's room. Not all parents are fortunate enough to stay with their children due to having to work full time and take care of their other kids at home. Sometimes people just need a break and a little "reset" to remember they are more than just a diagnosis. We decided to create a family wellness getaway in Park City. The getaway is tailored for each family.  Lodging, local recreational activities, dining, night out for the parents, nutrition and cooking classes are a few of the things provided.

As locals in Park City we understand the benefits of nature and how it can improve healing. Insurance limits types of services, reimbursement rates, and amount of services they will provide for patients. Mountain Moments believes the entire person should be addressed. Mind, body, and spirit is not simply a saying; it's imperative to recovery. We wanted to be able to bring children as well as their families to Park City.
