Imagine an encounter with giant dinosaurs, the allure of ancient Egyptian artifacts, the majesty of a pirate ship, or the fascination of seeing the delicate intricacies of the human body.  At the Museum of Idaho, you can surround yourself with all of these wonders of the world along with the opportunity to experience Southeast Idaho’s charming history.  The Museum of Idaho is a non-profit organization dedicated to bring nationally and internationally acclaimed exhibits to Southeastern Idaho.

The Museum of Idaho is currently raising funds for a museum expansion.  The current building is inadequate to sustain the traveling exhibit program and the expansion would allow us to showcase 10,000 years of Idaho History, our Mammoth and Giant Sloth, our Shoshone-Bannock Indian artifacts and numerous early Idaho settler and explorer artifacts.  In December of 2015, the Museum of Idaho was awarded a $500,000 National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) Challenge Grant that required a 3 - 1 match within a timeline of payments.  Your donation to the MOI Expansion Fund will be used to match the NEH Challenge Grant.  

The Museum of Idaho is a community education center offering learning opportunities for youth, adults, and educators.  Our education programs are designed to explore the sciences, humanities, and provide unique educational experiences.

We are also expanding our sustainability (endowment) fund so that we have the financial resources necessary to keep the Museum of Idaho a reliable source of historical and scientific information for years to come.  

We receive only 4% of our funding from the local government.  Without the support of the community, we would not be able to showcase the world renowned traveling exhibitions or display our rich local heritage.  We rely on donors, members, sponsors and ticket sales to keep our vision of preserving the past for future generations alive.
