Founded in 1976, Music for Minors' mission is to nurture in children a lifelong love of music. Today, we reach more than 23,000 students in transitional kindergarten through fifth grade with weekly, sequential music education programs. We work to ensure that a solid music background is an integral part of every student's well-rounded education. Music for Minors is committed to reaching under-resourced schools and turns no classroom away. We subsidize all of our programs from 10 to 100 percent, depending on need.

Music education transforms lives by:

  • Exposing children to the incomparable
  • Boosting academic achievement
  • Enhancing personal development
  • Sparking creativity and innovation
  • Promoting teamwork and discipline
  • Building community
  • Creating a pathway for vocal and instrumental music in upper grades
  • Increasing lifelong enjoyment and appreciation of the arts

Our comprehensive, standards-based program includes a variety of experiences through active participation in singing, musical games, movement and dance, listening and music appreciation, use of rhythm instruments, and music theory.

*NOTE: gifts may be made in memory of W. Earl Hall, a longtime supporter and member of the Board of Trustees of Music for Minors, by indicating so in the comment box when you make your donation. We are so grateful for Earl's incredible service to our organization and are inspired by his legacy.*

*We have received a generous matching gift from Nan and Chuck Geschke, and all gifts made today will be matched up to $10,000. We are humbled by their generous leadership.*
