WE'RE IGNITING A GLOBAL REVOLUTION IN CARE FOR PEOPLE BATTLING MYALGIC ENCEPHALOMYELITIS / CHRONIC FATIGUE SYNDROME (ME/CFS)!

#MEAction is an international network of patients fighting for health equality for ME/CFS, a complex chronic disease affecting 15-30 million people worldwide. Our Patient-Led Advocacy Network provides people with ME/CFS, their caregivers, and family members the opportunity to learn new skills - national advocacy, press engagement, working group leadership, event organization, research study participation, board service - while advocating for research, medical education, and public recognition for ME/CFS.

A neurological disease according to the World Health Organization, susceptibility to ME/CFS may be genetic, but the disease is triggered by an infection in the majority of patients. ME/CFS is severe in many cases: 75% of those affected are unable to work and 25% are homebound or bedridden. ME/CFS is a common chronic consequence of viruses, with 10-12% of those with serious infection going on to develop the disease.  

#MEAction was founded with the belief that while we may find it difficult to advocate for ourselves in the physical world, by making our activism accessible, we can be an unstoppable force.
