New Orleans Education League of the Construction Industry

A nonprofit organization

The New Orleans Education League of the Construction Industry (NOEL) provides and shares the expertise of industry professionals affiliated with the Home Builders Association of Greater New Orleans by providing cutting edge information, comprehensive education, research, and charitable offerings and services to the building industry, related industries, consumers and the broader public for matters through its unique 501 © (3) non-profit corporate structure.

Currently, the biggest impact NOEL has put on the community is through our program, Jefferson Joining Forces(JJF). JJF was created because of the large amount of low income elderly and/or disabled Jefferson Parish citizens who were given code violations. Many of the violations on these homes were for repairs that desperately needed to be done on these homes. Unfortunately, because these home owners do not have the means to pay off the violation fees let alone fix the issues, these violations become a finical burden the homeowners cannot handle. Our organization collaborated with the Jefferson Parish Office of Community Development to locate and help these citizens have safer homes and satisfy many of the code violations put on their homes. NOEL provides the funding to pay for local small construction businesses to perform these repairs, which not only benefits the homeowner but also helps the Jefferson Parish economy.

Since 2012, NOEL has completed repairs on more than 40 sites while also providing over $180,000 in contracts to small business. NOEL is attempting to replicate this program throughout southeast Louisiana.

Help us extend our reach not only to support more senior communities but also help grow local businesses.
