In our 20th year, the New Orleans Photo Alliance has enriched the community of greater New Orleans, and the southern region by sharing and fostering photographic visions through exhibitions, programming, an affordable resource center, the PhotoNOLA Festival, and community partnerships.

Located at 7800 Oak Street, the NOPA Gallery & Resource Center serves as a hub for photographers and photography lovers of all interests and backgrounds to meet and share ideas. In 2024, the Galley hosted multiple exhibitions with work from over 50 artists across skill level, most from the GNO area. NOPA exhibitions are free and open to the public to view.
The Resource Center offers programing including workshops and talks from locally, nationally, and internationally recognized photography instructors. Our darkroom and digital work station are for use by both our members and community. We anticipate the need for shared resources in the years to come and have built a community darkroom and are fundraising to modernize our digital works
"I love the New Orleans Photo Alliance because its members are a diverse composite of what makes New Orleans so unique and special to visitors from around the world."
-Bruce "Sunpie" Barnes, NOPA Board
"The Photo Alliance allowed me to reconnect with creativity at a time when things look incredibly bleak. It was a great outlet for seeking inspiration and a sense of shared humanity - whether through attending online talks by compelling photographers or by working alongside various local organizations to bring public and pandemic-safe art-viewing experiences to New Orleans. It's been a pleasure creating community within the Alliance itself, but also sharing the power of photography
