Nurturing Roots

Nurturing Roots (NRPA) is a solution-driven nonprofit run by educators and parents! We are dedicated to empowering parents, educators, and students to dismantle systemic inequities in education and disrupt the school-to-prison pipeline. We train and equip parents with advocacy skills, leadership development, and culturally responsive strategies to navigate school systems and push for educational equity. Through community engagement, restorative practices, and policy change, NRPA strengthens family-school partnerships, supports at-risk youth, and empowers families to be active agents of change, ensuring that all students have the opportunity to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

NRPA serves as a nexus for parents, students, and educators, empowering them to strengthen family-school partnerships and dismantle the school-to-prison pipeline. Through community symposiums, advocacy, and educational workshops, we equip stakeholders with the tools to promote educational equity and student success.

Our impact extends beyond parent education, NRPA's tutoring initiatives have led to an 87% increase in student engagement and improved intrinsic motivation, fostering stronger academic performance and self-efficacy.

NRPA fosters meaningful family-school connections, increases parental efficacy, and promotes trauma-informed practices. Our workshops receive overwhelmingly positive feedback, with 100% of participants rating them excellent or good and 94% interested in ongoing partnerships

As a thought leader in educational equity, NRPA takes a proactive approach to systemic change. Through research-based solutions and strategic partnerships, we provide parents, educators, and students with the resources to drive lasting impact. Our efforts have led to a 73% increase in parental involvement and 100% of parents and educators gaining a clearer understanding
