The people hurt most by drugs and alcohol don't even use them; they are the CHILDREN of alcoholics and other drug dependent parents.

NACoA has worked for the past 28 years to educate and advocate for these children and families.  We do this by:  training professionals, raising public awareness, advocating for effective policies, and restoring hope to the 1 in 4 children who are growing up in a home in which there is alcoholism or drug addiction.  The powerful forces of addiction often shape behaviors for years to come, affecting school performance and one’s ability to cultivate healthy and loving relationships.  It may even lead to their own future battles with addiction.

All too often, church leaders, teachers, and coaches – even grandparents and close neighbors – are ill-equipped to recognize and help these vulnerable children and families in need.  Those living with someone who suffers from alcohol or drug abuse often feel alone, powerless and bound to a life of fear and hopelessness.  With the resources NACoA makes available to professionals and lay people who interact daily with families living with an addicted loved one, together we can make a difference.

NACoA believes that none of these vulneralbe children should grow up in isolation and without support. Please Give to the Max!
