National Alliance on Mental Illness Hillsborough serves Hillsborough county is 1000 square miles with over a million people. One in four people experience or have mental health issues. There are many that we can help.

We have a simple mission: Our goal is to enhance the lives of those living with mental illness and their families and loved ones, through support, education and advocacy.

NAMI Hillsborough wants to reach the individual, the family and friends of the individual and feel that they are not alone, there is help, care and compassion for everyone. We want to help all the people we can.

How do we accomplish this goal?

Support :  Support groups for individuals who are suffering with mental illness. Support groups for families and friends who want to support their loved ones who are suffering with mental illness

Education: Classes that provide information on mental illness, treatment options, discussions. These are provided completely free of charge. These classes are for those suffering with mental illness. We also provide classes to families who want to understand mental illness and how to effectively help their loved ones.

Advocacy: We advocate for mental illness legislation and funding on the local, state, and federal levels by meeting with legislators, writing to our legislators, and working with other agencies to effectively use resources.

What do we need? 

YOU! We have a variety of avenues where you can help on a variety of different committees which including legislative, marketing/outreach, education/support, and finance.
