Nami-Western Riverside County

NAMI Western Riverside is a grassroots organization that is run solely by volunteers. Every class or support is completely free to its members and the community it serves. While we began as an organization supporting families we currently embrace every person affected by mental ilness, whether personally or indirectly.

This group, originally called Riverside Alliance for the Mentally Ill, began in the 1980's as a group of parents seeking solace and support from each other as they grappled with understanding mental illness in their children. With no one else to turn to they leaned on each other and a few other similar organizations beginning to form in California.

The organization has grown into what is now called the National Alliance on Mental Illness or NAMI.

NAMI Western Riverside is just one affiliate of thousands across the United States that fights against the stigma associated with mental diseases through educational classes, support groups and advocacy.
