For over 40 years, Nashua Soup Kitchen & Shelter (NSKS) has been serving the community by providing food, emergency shelter, and hope to our neighbors in need.  This year marked our first full fiscal year operating the 35 Spring Street Shelter, and the impact has been profound.  With 24,212 shelter nights provided, we safeguarded up to 18 men, 14 women, and 12 families on any given night.  Even as we nearly doubled our shelter capacity, we remain at or near capacity every night, with calls coming in daily from those in need of a safe place to sleep.

The lack of affordable housing has significantly increased the length of stay for our guests, leading us to enhance our case management services and add a housing advocate to help individuals and families transition from shelter to permanent housing.

Meanwhile, the demand for food assistance continues to grow.  In 2024 alone, we served over 69,000 hot meals, including breakfast five days a week and dinner every day of the year.  We distributed 8,196 food boxes from our food pantry to individuals and families struggling to make ends meet.

These numbers tell a story -- not just of need, but of resilience, dedication, and the power of community.  None of this would be possible without you.  Whether through donations, volunteer hours, or advocacy, your support fuels our mission and allows us to respond to those in crisis with dignity and compassion.
