The Burlingame Music Club (BMC), celebrating its 84th anniversary in 2014, is a gem of an organization on the San Francisco Bay Area Peninsula, especially to lovers of fine music and art. It is a non-profit organization and proud member of both the National Federation of Music Clubs and California Federation of Music Clubs, whose missions are to support and develop American music and musicians.

The major purpose of the Burlingame Music Club is to provide performance opportunities for gifted young musicians of piano, strings, voice, woodwinds and brass.  The student performers compete for cash awards.  At present the first prize is $1,000, but more importantly the doors that can potentially open to the student competitors are even greater, and the experience can be used on future resumes.

The program meetings occur on the second Monday of the month at 1:00 p.m. November through May.  The venue for our meetings is 241 Park Road, Burlingame, California.  The programs are free and open to the public.  We extend an invitation to you to attend our next meeting and enjoy an afternoon of music and art as well as tea and sweets after the performance

At each monthly program meeting/tea, students entering the annual competition perform.  Students of voice and brass/woodwind instruments perform in one year and in the alternate year students of piano and string instruments play.  In addition to the student performers, each program features the talent of professional musicians and gives local visual artists the opportunity to present their work.
