$10,000 Goal

Founded in 2002, the Native American Fatherhood and Families Association (NAFFA), an Arizona based non-profit organization, strengthens families through the Fatherhood Is Sacred® Motherhood Is Sacred® (FIS/MIS), Linking Generations by Strengthening Relationships® and Addressing Family Violence & Abuse® curricula. All curricula use time honored cultural principles and practices as a foundation to build strong families that are resilient to divorce, domestic and substance abuse, suicide and human trafficking. The result of these programs has been an increased awareness of the sacred purposes of families with strengthened relationships and communities. Over 35,000 parents have enrolled in local chapters and 1,500 facilitators have been certified to teach the FIS/MIS curriculum.   NAFFA Website

Our Fatherhood is Sacred® program teaches fathers to be leaders in their own families. The program lays a solid foundation to help these men rebuild their lives and strengthen the relationships which keep families together. The initial approach was to define the purpose of life which is defined as “To have a happy family.” Anyone can have a family but with the principles taught from our program, they learn that family life is more than just living in a house. It’s a life choice for those who work towards resolving challenges and solving problems, who can enjoy the benefits of the true joy and satisfaction of close family ties.

NAFFA programs use five-time tested principles:

  1. The Creator
  2. Value of Choice
  3.  Being Teachable
  4. Understand Wisdom
  5. Serve Others

We recognize the sacredness of families and the role that a man and father must play to ensure success and happiness as a family.   Our programs, utilizing trained facilitators, employ culturally sensitive curriculum that address the unique concerns and issues that face Native Americans today.

We foster integrity. We celebrate accomplishments that affect everyday lives.

We get results:

  1. Fathers reuniting with families
  2. Fathers re-establishing legal guardianship of children
  3. Fathers obtaining gainful employment
  4. Fathers seeking training and education
  5. Fathers becoming community activists
  6. Fathers breaking free from criminal involvement (We are proven to lower recidivism rates in the criminal justice system)
