$1,805 raised by 25 donors

Restoration of Our Adobe Home on Fourth Street in San Juan Bautista is an ongoing and costly commitment for the members of San Juan Bautista Parlor No. 179 Native Daugthers of the Golden West.

Our need is critical & great! Can you help us by donating ANY AMOUNT?

Our historic and beautiful Adobe Home is in need of repairs, restoration and seismic retrofitting. These items include repairs and restoration to the balcony & stairs outside, and seismic retrofitting to the roof.

These repairs and restoration issues will have significant cost. These issues were investigated and recommened in an assessment by Brett Brenkwitz and Charlie Franks, architects of Franks Brenkwitz Associates in Aptos, leaders in historic preservations of Adobe buildings. Our parlor is seeking donations from our member Sisters, friends and neighbors in the community.

Last year, our parlor raised money which was matched by the Community Foundation for San Benito County to have the lower exterior portions of the Adobe walls repaired, drainage improved and properly covered. This work was performed by Chris Ingram Lath & Plaster of Carmel Valley.

Our Adobe Home is located in San Juan Bautista, California at 203 Fourth Street. The Adobe was originally purchased and restored from its dilapidated condition in 1935. Our Adobe Home has been in continual use since for montly meetings and other activities. Today Our Adobe Home hosts a monthly Pedro Card Party (open to the public on the second Friday of every month), weekly Yoga classes (open to the public every Monday) and other events supporting Native Daughters of the Golden West, Mission San Juan Bautista and other community groups.
