Shirley Alexander Collins( 1932-2014 was the youngest of four sisters who knew what it was to do without, even though she didn't understand it. She learned to sew at an early age, and made her own clothes. It was World War II, and everyone did without. When Shirley went to college, she knew what it was, not to receive "care packages " from home. She knew what it was to be unable to purchase books . When she had to study, the school library was her only resource. Despite it all, she reached her goal, to dedicate her life to improving the lives of the young through teaching them to be the best. She spent her time, talent and resources, for more than 33 years as a Public School Teacher. In her honor, the Shirley Alexander Collins Education Grant Fund has been established to  assist students further their education, by providing personal support, not provided by scholarships or student aid. We need your help, because you might be able to identify with this story. Sponsored by Nazarene Outpost Ministries.
