Boy Scouts of America

Founded over 100 years ago, the National Capital Area Council, Boy Scouts of America has served millions of families by providing programs for young people that build character, promote mental and physcial fitness, and reaffirm religious faiths and values.

Currently the council serves over 61,000 families supported by over 23,000 volunteer leaders. We have two full-time camping facilities and organize summer day camps, giving well over 10,000 youth a year safe, fun, and memorable outdoor experiences. 

We have been named the "flagship council" of the Boy Scouts of America by Chief Scout Executive Bob Mazzuca and continue to strive to not only grow Scouting by the number of youth we serve, but also by the type of dynamic programs that we provide to area youth.
