NHSIE was founded in 1981 by three World War ll veterans who wanted to make homeownership available to underserved members of the community. Over 30 years later, we are still striving to fulfill the vision of our founders by offering down payment assistance, pre-purchase and post purchase education to first time homebuyers, and helping distressed homeowners save their homes. Public funding and corporate grants have declined as a result of the economic downturn at a time when the need for our services is at its highest level.  By investing in NHSIE you quite likely will be helping a neighbor, a friend, an employee, a family member or perhaps even yourself.
