The Neighborhood Well

The Neighborhood Well “TNW” seeks to alleviate the hygiene challenges faced by the homeless and unstably housed communities in the D.C. Metropolitan area through outreach events focusing on providing hygienic resources while creating a pipeline to other organizations and resources that enable those in need to achieve stability and long-term self-sufficiency.  While serving we give encouragement and support to our neighbors following the principle of Jesus Christ- Love thy neighbor!

During our monthly outreach events, we provide blessing bags to and fellowship with our neighbors in need. In addition to providing toiletries to our neighbors to help mitigate some health obstacles, we talk with our neighbors, learn about their experiences, and let them know that they are seen and loved! 

We are currently raising funds for our Mobile Shower Program! 

Often times we take for granted the value of being able to take a hot shower to get the day started, to freshen up before going to an interview, or as a means of relief after a long day. We believe that our homeless and unstably-housed neighbors should be able to access this basic need for those same reasons. Healthy hygiene habits go a long way towards better health and higher self -esteem. Our prayer is that all those who enter the mobile shower will come out with renewed dignity and hope.

This upcoming Mobile Shower Program will provide a safe, clean, and private environment for our neighbors to bathe and refresh.  We are raising funds to reach the $50K needed for the launch of the program. We are more than half way there! Through the generosity of our supporters, we have raised $30K towards the program and we are only $8K away from being able to purchase our first mobile shower trailer unit! 

Your contribution will go directly to the mobile shower program to help us bring a clean, safe, and private environment for our neighbors to groom and bathe, who may otherwise not have access to such a space. We cannot do this without you!
