Neighbors Abroad mission is to provide the people of Palo Alto and its sister cities an understanding of each other as individuals, as communities, and as countries — and to foster a better understanding of the world. Founded in 1963, Neighbors Abroad today manages year-round activities for Palo Alto and its six sister cities.

In Oaxaca, Mexico, and Palo, Philippines, Neighbors Abroad has maintained numerous charitable programs. We invite your donations to further the charitable arm of Neighbors Abroad.

  • Bolstering Emergency Response in Oaxaca Mexico. Now we are working to send four fire vehicles from Palo Alto to Oaxaca.
  • Supporting 50 children living in the Albergue Infantil Josefino Orphanage Oaxaca Mexico. For 25 years Palo Alto has supplied clothing, computers and other essentials to the orphanage.
  • Sending Books to the Palo Children’s Library in Palo Phillipines. After the recent hurricanes, Palo Alto has been supporting the rebuilding of the children's library.
  • Sustaining the Niño-a-Niño (Child-to-Child) Health Program. A local service in Oaxaca where children teach children about basic health and nutrition.
