Now celebrating its 46th Season, Nevada Ballet Theatre (NBT) continues to bring the Las Vegas community closer to the art form of dance. With professional company productions at The Smith Center for the Performing Arts, where NBT is the Resident Ballet Company, to its affiliated Ballet and Dance Academy, as well as its numerous Education and Outreach initiatives, NBT is at the heart of Las Vegas’ cultural landscape.

Making NBT’s mission possible is its one-of-a-kind facility, which instructs over 400 students in classes ranging from ballet to hip-hop. Co-existing within the same building as NBT’s professional company, students are inspired to hone their craft and receive unique opportunities to perform in professional company ballet   productions like NBT’s annual holiday classic, The Nutcracker at The Smith Center for the Performing Arts, as well as classical ballet and contemporary dance competitions and workshops.

NBT serves the community by offering students in need the opportunity to learn and experience dance. For twenty-six years, students from underserved areas have received free in-school dance instruction through NBT’s Future Dance GO-MOVE-DANCE!!! Program, making it one of the longest-running and most successful Education and Outreach programs in the state. Additionally, programs like Dance Discovery and the Future Dance Scholar Program provide over 200 dance scholarships to children who may otherwise not have the means to pursue dance; and the School Matinee Series, In-School Performance Program Storytime and Kids Night Out at the Ballet instill a passion and curiosity of the art form for the next generation of ballet fans.    Currently over 20,000 students a year are impacted by these life-changing programs.

NBT consistently seeks to engage new audiences by cultivating its professional repertoire and enhancing its identity within the national arts scene. Unique dance experiences like A Choreographers’ Showcase (ACS), its annual collaboration with Cirque du Soleil, creates avenues of growth for local artists while enriching the local cultural community with new and original dance works each year. Commanding critical acclaim, ACS embarks upon its 10th anniversary this fall.

With a reverence to its past, NBT looks to the future as it approaches its 2017-2018 Season and opens its arms to all those who wish to be inspired by dance. Please join us.
