Nevada Boys State

Nevada Boys State (NBS) is a seven-day hands on leadership experience. The program draws together the best and brightest high school juniors to form a mock state that includes mock cities, elections, courts and government branches. As a recent graduate said, "The program was phenomenal. I had the time of my life in just one week and made so many friends. I feel that I have a much greater understanding of what it means to lead and American politics."

The generous support and farsighted vision of the American Legion is behind Nevada Boys' State, which was launched in 1947 to provide a civics education to young men still in high school. It is among the most respected educational programs of government instruction for high school students. Each participant becomes a part of the operation of his local, county and state government.

At American Legion Boys State, participants are exposed to the rights and privileges, the duties and the responsibilities of a franchised citizen.
