Nevada Outdoor School

Nevada Outdoor School (NOS) has offices in Winnemucca and Elko Nevada but our passionate staff work tirelessly across rural Nevada and beyond to inspire youth and families to learn and grow outdoors.  You can find us in classrooms, on field trips, at summer camps, at Earthday events, at outdoor expos, with after-school groups, cleaning up campgrounds, leading snowshoe hikes, and many of the other exciting places and events!  We are also fanatical supporters of National Service, hosting an AmeriCorps program which places members with worthy organizations all over Nevada.  These members work in elder-care assistance and early child-care programs and as academic mentors, naturalists, volunteer coordinators, and many other vital roles.

We have great relationships with several federal grantors that fund a lot of our programs, but your private support means so much more to us!  It shows us that our communities support the work we do and it represents critical matching funds for our grants, plus, it can pay for some of the necessary things that grants won't!  Some of these things are fun, like lunch for our adventure campers, some are not so fun, like fixing a flat tire on our truck, but all equally critical to offering the absolutely best outdoor and environmental education programs to be found in rural Nevada!
