News 88.9 KNPR is where you learn about the issues that are most important to your community. Whether that’s in a discussion on KNPR’s State of Nevada, or on air announcements that raise awareness for cultural events or the efforts of vital organizations addressing the key challenges of our region. Each year we give back $1M of airtime in on air messaging to other non-profit organizations. Just last fall we partnered with Three Square in our fall drive to generate 35,000+ meals – that’s the power of the public radio audience!

Nevada Public Radio (NVPR) was established in 1975 as an independent, not-for-profit, public benefit corporation. NVPR signed on the air in 1980 with one station serving the Las Vegas area as Nevada's first National Public Radio (NPR(r)) affiliate station.
