The diagnose of diabetes in a child is devistating and the effects on the family can not be estimated. Diabetes Camp programs make all the difference in a child and their family's life.  This is just one mother's story. "Diabetes camp and family camp has been extremely beneficial, not only for our daughter, but the entire family. It has given her a chance to see she is not alone, her father a chance to ask questions, her brother a sense of relief, and her mother an opportunity to vent frustrations and get comfort from other moms who are in the exact same position. Camp programs are the only time I feel comfortable leaving her because I know she is under the care of professionals. One of our most memorable moments is when started camp & got excited comparing insulin pumps with other kids.
The kinship of kids just like her is wonderful and she has made friendships that will last a lifetime.
