New Leaf Behavioral Health

A nonprofit organization

$4,750 raised by 52 donors

New Leaf Behavioral Health was founded in 2007 as a safety net mental health organization providing mental health services for all ages, with a mission to provide quality care that is both affordable and accessible to many in our community that wouldn't have other options for help.  We emphasize an inclusive approach to services that provides options for the uninsured and underinsured -- two groups that are significantly neglected in the spectrum of mental health services in the area.

Our organization believes that people in need of help should be able to receive effective mental health care that is both affordable and accessible.   Guided by a socially responsible philosophy, we strive to provide the highest level of care that is designed to be inclusive of all in need of support in our community.

New Leaf is also committed to bringing greater awareness of mental health issues to the community helping reduce the stigma associated with seeking treatment. We work with community providers and organizations in creating outreach initiatives to provide information to the community and help identify those individuals who may be in need of help.  We are working toward the day when one’s mental health is treated as importantly as their physical health.

Donations received will directly support services provided at a reduced cost to individuals and families in our Reduced Fee Program.

$20 Donation
What is the benefit of one session?  When somebody is struggling with a mental health issue, they often don't know where to turn.  Often felt as a weakness, the individual may feel ashamed, embarrassed and isolated.  A $20 donation can provide one session - just one session - that can help an individual begin to gain an understanding of what they are experiencing, gain a path forward and instill hope for the future.

$100 Donation
$100 can provide several sessions of treatment for those in need.  An example of how your donation can help might be to provide counseling for a month for a college student processing a recent traumatic experience. It can be difficult reaching out for help within their school setting, and many are referred to community mental health organizations to work on moving past issues they may not feel comfortable addressing at school.

$160 Donation
A donation at this level can cover the cost of one of our low-fee groups, such as an 8-week Social Skills Group to help children improve self-esteem and improve their ability to form friendships.  Social skills are the building blocks of interpersonal relationships and self-esteem.  Some children don't develop these skills as quickly as others their age and it's important for children to have opportunities to continue to improve the way they socially relate to others.

$200 Donation
A $200 donation can provide enough therapy sessions to address and resolve a variety of issues.  One example might be a struggling couple trying to save their marriage.  Daily life stressors can take a toll on a relationship and having an affordable option can allow couples to engage in counseling sooner to address issues impacting their relationship.

$400 Donation
A donation at this level can provide an entire length of treatment for many mental health issues.  Often when people come to therapy, they wonder if they will ever be able to resolve the issue that brings them there.  Your donation of $400 can help make their successful treatment a reality.
