CHILDREN AND YOUTH / ELEMENTARY & SECONDARY:  We strive to develop a community of choice through excellence in education by partnering with school principals, parents, University of Alabama (Birmingham) School of Education students, education professionals, and concerned church members to create a high-quality learning environment.  Our goal is to assist each child in reaching their full academic potential for students in Kindergarten to 9th grades.

Our program is designed to reach out to all Birmingham-Eastlake students, yet, we recognize many of our local schools have not met their academic goals. Therefore, our purpose is two-fold: 1) to assist students performing at grade level in achieving a higher level of academic performance; and 2) to improve the academic achievement of low performing students within our community by:

1. Providing a safe and nurturing environment during out of school time.
2. Providing enrichment activities that focus on reading and math.
3. Providing physical activity and nutrition education to combat obesity.
4. Offering a curriculum focusing on character development.

We offer spring and summer camps and after school programs.

COMMUNITY AND SOCIETY: We strive to develop a community of choice by providing affordable housing for moderate to very-low income families.  There are many vacant homes within Birmingham, AL and at the same time there is a lack of affordable housing for low income families.  Therefore our goal is to turn vacant homes into affordable homes.

Programs:

1. House Fix  - Information sharing seminar on grants, applications and other services to repair existing homes in our community (2nd year).
2. Rehab Project - We have just rehabbed our first vacant property in the community. 
3. Building Project - Our next project is to build 10 new homes for moderate to very-low income families.

COMMUNITY AND SOCIETY: We strive to develop a community of choice by providing supportive services to senior citizens within our community.  We have partnered with Birmingham Weed & Seed to provide a senior transportation service.  This program may be helpful if you need assistance with non-emergency transportation to medical appointments within Birmingham downtown or eastern areas, shopping and banking at Eastwood Village and to The Shepherd Center East Community Center.
