New Heights Therapy

We are dedicated to positively impacting lives through our life changing equine therapy, helping both children and adults who have physical, cognitive, and emotional difficulties reach their full potential. New Heights Therapy serves a wide variety of groups and individuals in our community and beyond. Our services benefit those with developmental delays, down syndrome, autism, post traumatic stress disorder, paralysis, multiple sclerosis, and also serves our Nation's Veterans.

Founded in 1998, New Heights Therapeutic Riding Center is a 501(c)(3) non-profit located in Folsom, Louisiana right outside of New Orleans. Operating on 22 acres, we help people who have physical, cognitive, and emotional difficulties reach their full potential through equine therapy. New Heights Therapy is a Premier Accredited Center of the Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship International (PATH).

The healing power of a horse is magical. Besides the physical benefits, Equine Assisted Therapy helps build emotional awareness, social skills, impulse control, confidence, self-efficiency, trust, empathy, decreases isolating behaviors, helps to learn respect, and establishes limits or boundaries. Since horses have similar social and responsive behaviors to humans, it's easy to create a connection with the horse.
