New Futures

New Futures propels under-served young people through community college degrees and other shorter-term certifications and into rewarding careers and further education.  We invest in our Scholars with a deliberate combination of scholarships, academic advising,  career coaching, and a lot of heart as they launch in-demand careers that will lead to financial security in the Washington, DC region.  

THE NEW FUTURES PROGRAM:

• The only college success organization focusing on young people leveraging associate degrees and certifications as the launching point to strong careers
• Serving 500+ Scholars and Alumni in the Washington, DC region
• Scholars selected in the past five years have a 93% persistence and completion rate in their post-secondary programs, compared to a 29% average graduation rate for students attending two-year institutions 
• 97% of Alumni are employed or enrolled in additional degree programs
• 63% of Alumni report that their financial position has improved
• $5 million awarded in scholarships since 2000 to 500 young people
• New suite of signature workshops and Career Pathway opportunities rolled out since 2017
